This place has been low energy for a while now. Wonder where everyone went.
I guess some people are taking some time off to cool off a bit, but there has been a massive drop in comments/posts and activity overall in the pas ~2-3 weeks. A lot of stuff is missed, and whenever anyone posts anything newsworthy people start bitching about how it is all pointless.
It’s been a pretty damn demoralizing past month. I don’t blame folks for stepping out for a bit, hell I cut my news consumption by 90%. We need to stay strong so that when people come back we are here.
Yeah, but there are other [non-political] communities now at communities.win and even they have seen a small decline in activity over the past 10 or so days. I understand wanting a break from politics, but this seems a bit weird. I wonder if the whole gab recruitment campaign that has been going on here cause a decline in activity here as people moved to gab.
Yes there are non-political coms, but we are by far the biggest and the most well known. Until the other coms are large enough to self support, all of .win will be heavily influenced by the number of people who are on TDW. The fact that you have seen a large drop on TDW and a small drop on other coms is a very good thing, it shows that they are being weened off of the support of TDW.
