If someone breaks into your house, they value your things more than they value their life.

If someone breaks into my home, they don’t value my life or my family’s lives.

I value my ammunition more than the robber’s life.

My shotgun shells are about $1.50/each right now and my 9mm are about 60¢/each.

I figure the robber would be worth 1 shotgun shell or 3 center mass 9mm. A robber’s life is worth approximately $1.50-$1.80 to me.

Really its just democracy in action. Two people value your things more than the intruder's life, and none opposed. It would be unAmerican not to kill them.

I think they value YOUR things more than YOUR life, they rarely consider that theirs could be at risk or to take that seriously since they are focused only on their own gain.

I value the lives of my family and my own over someone I don't know with intentions I don't know. Not risking it.

Just assume anyone breaking into your house intends to do you harm, and you can avoid this whole argument...

Things are life.

Let's say you work 50 years average in life. You make average of 50k a year. You are a handyman.

Let me take something not even that sexy. Power tools. Easy to steal, and most people don't think about it, but they can cost thousands. Easy to pawn out of state.

Let's say some dude rolls up your alley, gets out with a bat, and tells you to get down while his buddy starts grabbing shit. They take everything you got. The nice sockets set, the Milwaukee saws and drills, the whole shebang.

You"re now out 5gs. 5/50 =10%. 10% of a year = 36 days, basically a whole month. They just took a whole month of your life. But actually they took two. You now have to work again to get back to where you were. It might be more expensive now in real dollars even if you bought those over the years.

Personally, I wouldn't kill a man over it, but in some cases "things" are actually paid for in life cost, life experience cost, and quality of life cost. I am totally okay with some people having their own ended if they care so little and make others little more than slaves to them by stealing their possessions away.

I literally value my toothbrush or a piece of junk mail on my counter more than I value the life of a thief. If you break into my house for any reason, you deserve to leave in a body bag. Period.

Any law that attempts to protect criminals from their victims is abhorrent and should not exist.
