This is why you don't see Aristotle on Facebook, Twitter, or Youtube. He was banned.

He did say, "Republics decline into democracies and democracies degenerate into despotisms.”

How is this not true, though? Western society has been feminised for a while now - and its done us no good.

Gonna need a citation for this. I believe that this quote is doctored. It's a real quote but the masculine and feminine have been added to it. If you can find me the actual citation, book and chapter and line, I'm happy to be corrected.

Yeah

There is no way this is real

Textbook disinformation technique, mixing a true thing with some lies to make it sound believable. Anyone who's spent any time reading Aristotle, a worthy endeavor, would know this was fake. Too bad so many youngsters rely on memes about the classics instead of reading the classics.

My anonymous sources from a Reddit thread say that it’s Aristotle. There’s your citation

ROTFLMAO They also believe the fine people hoax and the drink bleach hoax and the climate change hoax and the covid hoax and a lot of other bullshit. A lie being repeated by idiots doesn't make it true. Aristotle's works are broadly available. If he said it then it should be easy to find using simple search parameters. And I gave a hint already: it's a mostly real quote; masculine and feminine have been added, probably by some dude who can't get a date.

Edit: downvote me to your heart's content. I still don't see a citation. =P

psst, Aristotle would approve of anishr's reductio ad absurdum

AsaNisiMAGA 2 points ago +2 / -0

True xD

anishr 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bro i was joking haha. In plain speak - that is some BS and Aristotle did not say that

2
AsaNisiMAGA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks. I kinda knew that but it's safer here not to assume stuff. That's how I get in trouble, usually. Frens?

anishr 2 points ago +2 / -0

Cheers dude. Let’s MAGA together

That's not a citation. If it's real you should be able to find the source. None of those include the source. Real quotes have identifiable sources; book, chapter, line.

Back then only soldiers had voting rights because government's only resolution was "SHALL WE GO TO WAR?" and 2000 years later their names are remembered.

Camille Paglia has made this same point...that civilizations tend to become feminized over time as were the Greek and Roman civilizations...and are then swept aside by a masculine civilization.

I don't know Greek, but in Latin the words can be feminine, masculine or neuter. Maybe they "helped" the translation by pointing out the gender of the original Greek words?

http://factmyth.com/how-democracy-leads-to-tyranny-from-platos-republic/

Calling BS on the quote though plato had some comments on the matter in several of his writings in particular Republic.

In Plato then Socrates talks about different forms of government and the weaknesses in each. A republic and democracy eventually turn into an Oligarchy. By way of pointing out differences in people because people are inherently different which is how you undermine freedom. Which leads to tyranny because naturally people are unequal.

Yes, a source on this would be appreciated. This quote is mentioned in a year old article on this page https://www.legit.ng/1239567-30-famous-aristotle-quotes-education-love-life.html

"Masculine republics give way to feminine democracies, and feminine democracies give way to tyranny."

As well as the similar one:

"Republics decline into democracies and democracies degenerate into despotisms."
