Can they make good pilots? How about military base barbers? How about cooks? MPs? Sharp shooting instructors? JAG lawyers? Radar operators? Mechanics?

There's a ton more roles in the greater military than being on the front lines in Iraq in an army fire team.

That said, I totally agree with you that they shouldn't be able to be conscripted into the military, I just also happen to think men shouldn't be able to be conscripted either.

the draft is only for dire emergencies, when there is no volunteer force around. Sure there plenty of noncombat roles, but those damn ultra left are not satisfied. However I do not think anyone should be forced to register for the draft.

With the amount of pointless wars, I agree. If the American people don't think a war is worth dying for, then maybe it's not a war we should be in in the first place.

I didn't say that I wanted them to be soldiers. I only said they have the capability to perform useful roles within the military structure, not whether they should or not.

Like it or not, if the army was running out of troops you’d have to be drafted. Hahaha. I don’t understand people against the draft. Abolish it.. but the moment it’s needed it will be back, what planet are you people on? Maybe I am the crazy one

It's unlawful imprisonment that strips a man of his God-given constitutional right to self-defense by placing him in harms way against his will. If we ever find ourselves in a situation where we "need" it, we'd be better off with volunteer self-defense militias.
