With stock ponds frozen, range cattle can't drink. The power companies are already warning about outages. Those coal-fired power plants don't seem so evil now, do they?

Germany had a power disaster in the last couple weeks because of their move towards Green Energy. Green Energy is a disaster through and through if you like cheap, always available electricity and heat. You can't run modern civilization on Green Energy, convince me otherwise.
Germany is a shitshow when it comes to electricity. We now have the highest electricity price WORLDWIDE.
Where I live we've also had more blackouts in the last couple of years than in several decades before that combined.
Green energy is a total mess.
Is there any valid reason why Germany didn’t build fission reactors? Like is there a uranium supply problem, is all the uranium owned by Russia or something, or is it just environmentalist paranoia about nuclear?
Valid? No. Political? Yes.
Germany had a big anti-nuclear movement pushed by the Greens in the 90s. Ever since then we've been shutting down anything nuclear.
And the environmental hysteria only got worse since then. Germany's whole energy policy is driven by far-left hysterics. Well, that doesn't really paint the whole picture: EVERY aspect of society and politics in Germany is driven by far-left hysterics.
It sounds like things are worse there than here. I wonder if this problem is worse too https://righteousmind.com/viewpoint-diversity/ and if that’s the main reason.
Snow on the solar panels and too cold for the lubricants in wind turbines. What could go wrong?
You can’t and they know this. The failure is feature.
