That's because their continuous claim to be "open-minded" really just means "lack of moral resolve". As you get older and your view of the world cures and solidifies into place, you gain that resolve naturally. Where a 20 year old might say, "Well who is to say what's right and wrong." A 50 year old man will say, "That crossdresser is a weird idiot."
