You have a good point. In a court room that's not always the case though. They want you to present yourself as 'nice'. If you appear 'mean' then you're more likely going to be labeled as the aggressor instead of being viewed as someone that is fed up with putting up with shit.

IMO, you can be open and honest. You just have to be blunt and "mean" to make it work against these types.
