This is about freeing up Trump so he can finally get back to being on the offense instead of Defense. This is not about the election right now, it has to wait until this BS is over.
This is ABSOLUTELY about election night. They get him impeached, then, even when the truth about the election comes out, they can say, "Oh, well, he was impeached anyway."
Defense decided not to bring election fraud into it. I think it was a good move as it's a sideshow to the charges (incitement) and it allows the Dems to pontificate and spin on a topic other than their extremely weak incitement case.

Trump would be in prison or worse already if he hadn’t stopped talking about election fraud since the 6th.
