You know, funny that you say that, but most native Tribes were nomadic because they over harvested the land and needed to wait for it to restore itself. 9 times out of 10, nobody was actually living on the claimed lands when the settlers arrived.

And if they were they were probably killing themselves over it already anyway... we supposed to believe all the tribes were peaceful hippies frolicking through the wilderness together apparently

The number of people who legitimately believe that native tribes were all sitting around singing Kumbaya and being in tune with nature until the evil white man came along and introduced the concept of war to them is staggering. I'd say it was due to an absolute failure of the education system, but it was deliberate so you can hardly say it failed.

These are the same people who will bend over backwards to defend how native tribes routinely took slaves from rival tribes by crying "It wasn't REAL slavery!"

I think it’s that people don’t grasp what they did.

Anyone with a public education can tell Indians had war and knew war prior to meeting Europeans. Few actually grasped that it wasn’t just some skirmishes of hunting. These tribes did horrible things to each other just as they did horrible things to Europeans. You need only to know what scalping is to understand that these people were not kind, understanding nor friendly. Mind you, this varies by tribe and some definitely interacted with colonists better than others.
