My unsolicited advice: get a gift so that if she gets upset at no gift or got you a gift, you are covered. Even if its just some chocolates or candy, NEVER SHOW UP TO V-DAY EMPTY HANDED! If no gift is needed you can always return it but giving it to her and saying that you love her too much not to get her something is recommended.
