Holocaust and its parallel in stalinist russia didnt start overnight. There were years perhaps decades of dehumanizing political opponents before camps were acceptable

They didn't wait till the camps were "acceptable" they just kept them secret or called them something that sounded useful and beneficial, like a Covid Quarantine center.

the difference today is that there's mass global communication, and a lot of us have been put in touch and connected with each other for this very reason

exactly, the same thing is happening in the US. its shameful. Its now a two pronged attack with those who defy government covid mandates are being labeled as Trump supporters too. as if wanting to live your life out from under the boot of the government is a bad thing.
