This certainly isn’t the norm bc the gas stations by me are all $2.50ish for regular. But the fact that I can drive through back country NJ and see gas at $3.50+ shows the squeeze is already happening.
I live in back country NJ (pinebarrens) and the gas stations are all $2.70ish. I know there are some gas stations that are incredibly overpriced too. There is a Sunoco in Waretown that is always about .25-.35 higher than everyone else. And there was a Shell I think in Short Hills that was like .75 higher than everyone else. Not sure if that's still a thing. And there's one gas station in Mendham that takes advantage of their monopoly.
