My mother just called to tell a story that really upset me. She was at Hannaford's grocery store parking lot unpacking her groceries into the trunk of her car and was approached by a small group of people who looked to be in their 20s shouting at her to put her mask on and calling her names.
She is a 75 year old, kind, hard working lady, who lives alone. She had breast cancer 10 years ago and during the radiation treatment her lungs were burned resulting in scar tissue inside her lungs so she has serious breathing problems when doing physical activities like lifting bags of heavy groceries into her trunk. She did wear her mask in the store but took it off once at her car.
Is there any recourse I can do that can at least put some focus on this issue and help make it not happen again? I was so angered by this and if I was there I would have got in their faces but I'm sure they are pathetic enough to only do this to old ladies by themselves.
Since it's the grocery store and a very essential place for her to go I am very worried about this since she should feel safe going there. What can I do about this Pedes?
I'm really sorry this happened to your mother. You are most likely correct in that these fuckers probably wouldn't do the same to someone who would get in their face. I don't know that there is any kind of "legal" recourse for you so I tend to agree with Kilroy below, either go with her or get someone to go with her. I also agree with Fight4Trump below about getting her a gun, if she is comfortable with that and your state allows her to carry it. If she were to pull out a gun, I'm betting those fuckers would high-tail it out of there. God Bless your Mother.
