They can’t use the 14th Amendment unless they want it to go to the Supreme Court. Double jeopardy still applies.
Double jeopardy is a good point, but I worry that they could try to twist is in a slightly different way to still pass it. Plus we can't ever trust the SCOTUS to do anything.
Actually, if anyone just watched that snake POS McConnell, he just said that he hopes civil and criminal charges to be filed against Trump in the coming days.

No the Senate cannot try for insurrection. They would have to file a CRIMINAL complaint and have the courts handle it and no court will convict on this or it will eventually make it to SCOTUS where they have several cases that ruled exactly what insurrection is and this is not.

Correct but they would now be faced with the pesky first amendment.
The House could impeach Trump again tomorrow for not letting himself be impeached the past 2 times. They don't care and they don't have to give a fuck cause there are no rules to impeachment (except that the Chief Justice had to be there).
Did you forget the commission to destroy the Supreme court is already underway? I mean they call it reform, but it is just to remove any possibility of upholding the constitution. So dont worry about them doing stuff that goes to SCOTUS. Its already being fixed...
