This is what Trump failed to do in office. He thought people would be loyal to him if he helped them. But, politicians don't work that way. Its purely self-interest there and its a what have you done for me lately world. The way you advance yourself in the swamp is by having leverage over people, not by giving them something for nothing. He helped all these RINOs win elections because he thought they'd help him in return. What he needed to do was set up votes on his priorities closer to elections so he could get something in return.

But, I can't blame him too much because the turtle made sure that didn't happen.
