The point isn't to convict him as much as it is to continue to demonize and vilify him and the MAGA movement. This will not end until they are stopped with overwhelming force.

Anyone who would hate him already does, though. If anything, he gains support as the ridiculousness escalates.
The process is the punishment.
Unfortunately I'm not sure "actual" courts really exist anymore.
