The republican party is largely ignored and not voted for by right wingers and libertarian types because they are specifically spineless, ineffectual and don't actually protect our values against the democrats. They just slow walk what the leftists want instead.

A true, actual version of the republican party that doesn't bow down to "optics" would make a huge splash. Most already would abandon the GOP. More so would when they see it's just the GOP but actually doing what they said. Think long game. It wouldn't be about winning the presidency. You would get a third party into the house and senate first. And that would make huge changes alone.
