This is the kind of news that warms your heart.
I don't feel like my heart is warmed reading this. An innocent 73 year old woman was shot. A 12 year old child has to live with the trauma of killing a person. And worst of all, she didn't get the second one from the sound of it.
I did consider missing the second perp may impact her future but she should be proud of what she accomplished. She did more to save grandma than Cuomo did.
F that. If I killed a criminal who shot my grandma I'd have some awesome newfound confidence.
Right. It would’ve been a happy story if a veteran neighbor who could literally gouge a man to death and not lose a wink of sleep had shot both the intruders PRIOR to them injuring anyone and they had both lived with horrific injuries/disabled - THAT would’ve been a happier story.

The fact that they felt the need to state that "no charges are expected to be files against the 12-year-old".....?? Why the hell would there be a need to file charges on anyone protecting themselves against others breaking into where they live....
As long as the adults around her tell her they are proud of her for her actions...make sure she knows she did the right thing...take her to the range more often...most importantly...make sure she bears NO shame or guilt....she will grow to be a strong and self reliant woman!
