I want to know, what, if any, are the consequences for the Democratic Party for all this BS? I mean... if someone files a frivolous lawsuit, there are consequences, right? In "civil" courts, counter suits can be filed for defamation, court costs, etc. right?

So this being the 2nd failed impeachment, shouldn't there be some kind of legal consequences in play? I mean, personally, I think this should allow Trump to play his Uno Reverse Card on the Election, but that's the most delusional dose of Hopium of all time.

However, there really needs to be consequences for all this crap. This is something that should be addressed going forward as well- some kind of stipulation in the law that if Congress puts forward an impeachment and it turns out to be bogus, then all parties involved in pushing the impeachment through are subject to removal from Office & from holding Office ever again. Basically, if you don't have a real case & you can't convict, then the penalties are turned on you. That would certainly make Congress think long & hard before they launch BS impeachment proceedings. Guaranteed, if they knew the shit could backfire on them, they wouldn't be so quick to proceed.
