It's all about controlling the narrative, and the scope of the discussion.

Let's say "A" is "Tump is Hitler" and "Z" is "Trump is the Messiah". Most news coverage is going to be somewhere between "D" through "F", as if "D" and "F" are diametrically opposed positions, rather than points along a spectrum. Clever manipulation can move these points a little bit in either direction, but as long as the dialogue remains within the bounds of points D through F, the average consumer of newsclown disinformation will react in predictable fashion to what is presented to them as "the facts".

Yup. Lots of unsuspecting normies drink that up and don’t understand they are being manipulated. Once you know the tactics to look for, you see it almost everywhere.
