Being in the military I’m not sure that’s true. I think most would follow orders until it came time to fire on Americans. The enlisted ranks are all Trump supporters. They all respect and listen to their parents and their church. No one joined to be brown shirts.
I wish I could agree with this but I know a lot of fellow infantrymen that would do whatever they are told. We aren’t some elite class of patriots in the service. We are regular people recruited from the general population. A lot of soldiers take the oath just because they were going no where in life or needed the benefits.
Hell I’ve had this conversation with some battle buddies and I’ve gotten responses like “as long as I’m still getting paid...” some soldiers seem to think civilians wouldn’t shoot back either so they aren’t worried.
In my unit over the last couple of years we’ve had someone arrested for making meth in the barracks, someone arrested for dealing drugs, handful of DUIs, one soldier arrested for abusing his own daughter and his fucking wife caught him.
I’m an NCO and infantry squad leader, I know for a fact that you can’t rely on ethics and morals or integrity in the military anymore. They brainwashed our civilian population for decades and the military recruits from that population. They’ve lowered the standards so much that anyone can get in. They’ve replaced proper counseling with tonnes of paperwork. Hell these kids can’t even throw handgrenades safely anymore and some of our battle drills are based off of being able to do that.
The military has sadly turned into a fucking daycare and it’s scary having to deploy with half these kids.
