If you have time/cover to do a “tactical reload” then it’s not something that needs to be practiced. If you don’t have time/cover to do a “tactical reload” then you should be running your gun dry and transitioning or dropping your mag to the deck and putting in a fresh mag.
I also really love how they teach you where to put your now half empty or almost empty magazine so that you don’t mix it up with your other full mags. I also love how they teach you how to count your rounds as if there’s not enough serious things to be focused on.
