I would assume they are following order's, like good soldiers are suppose to do. The problem isn't the soldiers in DC who are currently doing what they are told to do, the issue is the highest levels of our military, the actual people in control of these guardsmen, have told Trump, before he left office, that their oath, did not allow them to be controlled by dictators, basically calling Trump a dictator. Thus is where the problem lies, the highest in control, have been bought and paid for. That staement from the highest level General, is why I feel Trump walked away quietly, because without support form the ones who had the power to control, he was a lone man with no support, where support was needed.

These men and women of our Military are standing out in the freezing rain being used as human shields to protect the ones running the overthrow of our Government. It's like if you were a corrections officer in charge of protecting the person who killed your family. I feel sad for our Military with no actionable way to help. Kinda crazy.
Because when you join the military, which your post shows you never, you take an oath to obey orders and protect the constitiution. They are simply obeying the orders thus given them by their commanding officers. They would be committing treason if they did anything opposite of what their order's pertain to.
It's the same reason we never see the actual "Income Tax Strike" Conservatives are always pushing. It's because we know damn well that the Left will use their weapon in the IRS to track down every single person who doesn't file/pay.
If all the troops stationed in D.C. got together and decided to leave, they know each and every one will be hunted down and punished. Instead of following their oath to protect the country, they've decided to protect themselves.
The only people who get away with breaking the law en masse and not being hunted down individually are illegal aliens. 40 million people don't pay taxes, they'll find each one. 40 million (probably more) illegal aliens and the response is, "There's just too many to even try."
