I think it’s generational voting patterns. My kid dated someone black for 3 years in high school. Of course he was a good church going kid, played football, etc.
We had a conversation one night about whatever was happening and he said why isn’t the government helping more. I said helping would be to get out of our lives.
Other than his belief that government fixes things he was a Democrat voter with conservative values. Church, sports, homophobic (not linking that to maga just pointing out he’s not the solid democrat he thinks he is)
Still a good kid that I hope gets to grow some wings now that he’s in college. The parents put my helicopter parenting to shame. It’s my guess once he gets out under the thumb he’ll have a little fun and get it out of his system.
