Cassidy has ZERO political future in Louisiana. Trump on the other hand is the Republican party. He has the support. Some of the Old Guard refuses to accept this. But they are actually Old Guard in search of a party. The party abandoned them.
Trump has galvanized the Republican party around a few central principles:
-Respect for and preservation of the Constitution, especially the 2nd amendment
-Respect for life of the unborn
-Strongest military in the world, to be used on limited basis and only where American interest are at stake and not for nation building
-Not surrendering to globalist on trade deals that penalize or eliminate American jobs
-Not to succumb to ridiculous world climate treaties that only penalize the US. BTW, even w/o the Paris thing, US emissions eclipsed the reduction goals that were in the treaty. Was done through technology and not through reduction of industry.
-Immigration policies that make sense and that do not seek to simply import voters or cheap labor
