Out of curiosity, why does it matter if the serial # is shown? There's no national registry, yet. What information can you get with a serial # on a gun?
When you buy that gun through a retailer or through an FFL, I suspect very well your information is linked to the serial number of that gun. You think the only reason they ask for all of your personal information is for a background check? There are databases, from my understanding, that can be searched to link SNs to people for crime investigations, etc.
“Arms” does not state limited to muzzle loaders. I would imagine the founding fathers would be cool with private ownership of howitzers, LAW’s, and RPG’s.
Ahh, good point. Granted if the feds really wanted to know what I have, they could find it. Although, I guess it's better to not make it so easy for them.
People do it all on their own on Sunday gundays. 🤦♂️
Every time I see an AR pointed to the left...

A serial number doesn't give anyone any info about you.
It doesn't tell them how you got the gun or if you have it legally or not.
It may seem to you like a s/n matters, but it doesn't.
