This impeachment is a victory for Dems regardless of Trumps acquittal. The GOP is going to have an internal power struggle splitting both the funding and the vote. The party will likely go Trumps direction but the lack of unity creates the perfect opportunity for Dems who currently have a unified voting block in Congress and who hold the presidency.
McConnell handed total control of the federal government to the power hungry Dem leadership in exchange for their help keeping Trump and Trump Republicans from unseating McConnell as the senate leader and from getting enough people elected to decide the direction the party goes.
