I've heard stroke brought on by stress and chemical agents (tear gas). I heard such reports on Jan 7 and 8 as well. He did not die at the capital either.
i read he collapsed when he was at the station later that afternoon. they said stroke or heart problems. The original story about the fire extinguisher was retracted a few hours after it was published by whoever originally posted it. then a few days later it became the story again. I did not screen shot it all , but in hindsight I should have. truly 1984.
In a crowd of 500k people you would statistcially expect roughly 12 to die each day. In the case of Jan 6 those deaths were politicized. I don't think there's much else to it. In the course of normal operations, in a large crowd, people die. Unless someone died directly as a result of being attacked that day it is dishonest to blame those that were there. Afaik Ashli is the only one that was murdered that day.
How did he die then?

Saw a report the other day it was bear repellent.
Sure, could have been. There is no way to really know now.
