Agreed. Totally. Our federal laws prohibit discrimination on the bases of either race OR color, since they are not synonymous phenomenon. I had three students from Nigeria one year, all of them were black in color, but they were of different races/tribes, with distinct languages, foods, customs, and clothing. Same with white people---the Germans are not the Italians, the Greeks are not the Swedes, etc. White is a COLOR, not a RACE. I get so pissed and refuse to check "white" as a race, and always mark "two or more races" so as to honor both my father's Irish ancestry and my mother's Baltic heritage.
