I've been watching the forecast temperature for tonight keep dropping. Now it's down to 14 degrees. That's about 10 degrees under the typical coldest day of a typical decade and the second coldest I can remember.
I think the coldest day ever recorded when I was younger was in 1899, but still in double digits. Then a freak arctic blast plunged us down to about 5 degrees and it didn't get past 9 degrees for that day's high. After that, it warmed up. I remember that event because I thought it was amazing that the High that day was lower than the prior record low.
Anyway, I haven't heard any precipitation lately so it's either stopped or turned to snow.
Still in the mix zone. You know it's not snow when you hear it hitting the roof.
