That fire extinguisher story was first put out by a shady DC area website with less than 100 daily views; not even a news agency. Yet the MSM ran with it for a month because it fit the narrative they were selling.

This is how the fake news operates. As long as they can quote someone, ( or pay someone to say) saying something they can run with the story and claim it's true because they are just quoting this person.
