The same push broom that you use to chase off leaves will work well on soft dry snow. It'll take awhile but so would a snow shovel.

Well, in Syracuse, NY -- people just walk in the streets -- really. I don't know why but they do...
I used to clear the whole sidewalk -- but people still walked in the streets. So - now, I just do what I have to do to keep the government from fining me. And, if someone wants to walk on the sidewalk, which they never do, they have a clear path -- about 1.5 to 2 feet wide...
It works for me ....
And, for all the people in Texas having to clear sidewalks who are not in top shape -- they should make it as easy on themselves as possible because moving snow is a great deal of work.
Works for you....of course. You're not pushing a stroller. You're not walking side by side with a little one. More so, all that snow you've left on the pavement will now easily melt right into the ditch you're so proud of and make the whole thing slick.
