Turns out parler was using a TRIAL version of their software. I'm not aware that the company ever leaked that info, but it wouldn't be difficult to combine the two to doxx a lot of users. That is why I will NEVER use parler.
I was on Gab first, then found TDW. No complaints about anyone there, but it's only advantage over P.W is maybe image and media posting? Now I struggle to try to get a convo going on gab when there is usually better info here and the convos are already started at high energy. Now that the nirmies are finally coming over, in January a bazillion pedes flock to it, and they didn't have the infrastructure to handle all the traffic. They're starting to feel normal now, so I hope it's a good trend.
Same here, but it seems like they handled it well. I decided to give them a few more weeks to tweak their servers, but I think I'll start getting on more soon. It's a great way to share this communities' content.
Most of my friends are still on FB, but a few of them are filtering over. Mostly we just use it for sharing articles. But I'm finding other people to chat with, and the site is mostly stable, with a few hangup once in a while.
They knew they had to get it back up before Gab got too much traction. The whole point of having multiple platforms for conservatives is to keep them divided so that no single one grows large enough to challenge twitter.

The issue with GAB is its ran by a weird Q anon believing dude. Yea I'm happy he did his own thing and is not controlled by big tech but weird or extreme religious crap is going to drive normal every day uses away and gab will become a far right echo chamber instead of what TWITTER should have been, a fair treatment public space for an exchange of ideas.
