Works for me as well. Support did post it may still be down in certain areas as the DNS info populates through the web. But keep trying, I got on about two hours ago.
Yes, they aren't accepting any new accounts for a week, so you'll have to use your old credentials. I signed on from the website first (not for any reason other than convenience) and had trouble doing so with DDG. Had to use chrome to do it. Again, YMMV. I then used the app for the rest of the day. There were a few times yesterday that I couldn't refresh, but I assumed it was traffic. ETA, you may have to clear the cache on your browser and unless you've reinstalled the app, you will probably have to log out and in again, or, clear the app cache.

I could not get on yesterday (even tried creating a new account) nor today.
