I'm in Canada, and my area implemented a $15/hr minimum a couple years ago.
We've seen a rush to create automated checkouts/cashiers everywhere, my last 3 workplaces went from:
180 to 115 employees;
14 to 8;
9 to 5.
Of the latter two, it quite literally just removed all the student/entry jobs. So instead of having desk/front end staff and secretary-type positions, they all just multitask.
