One of the sick jokes that happens goes like this:

Let's take a restaurant for example. They would hire a new girl from the college for $7 an hour which they can calculate, with her inexperience and training time will still pay off.

Now they cannot do that. So what happens is they will only keep and hire the most experienced waitresses they can find. Now watch this part.. so what happens is that college freshman gal becomes a 3rd year student and still has zero waitressing skills and 5 years later has none.

You see all those 17-21 year olds who, so far, have no work experience and are lofting around signs demanding this $15 minimum have no idea how badly this will screw them. It may even advantage some established (example) waitresses who have already mastered it, they got mad skills after 3 years (they started at $7 per hour by the way) and now they get solid job security and will always be chosen for any other opening. The one who applies for the first job is easily the last one they want. Oh, they would have wanted you at $7 and you would have been worth $11 a year later but they do NOT want you now. They only want the most experienced and they will try and keep those ones too.

Derp!
