Im a college student and was working a minimum wage type of job pre-covid (around $12/hr). I was technically blocked from receiving merit increases (which were only $0.15) because CA has $15 minimum wage in the pipeline. $15 minimum wage DOES NOT encourage good employees.
In this case it sounds like your employer was bad? Why fight against the fellow poor people versus condemn your wealthy employer who was holding back on you?
