Long haul? I'm considering going for a CDL but not sure long haul would work out well... really don't want to be gone from my wife and kids all the time. But then again I've been mostly unemployed for going on two years now and barely getting by from temp work.
I was in IT for years but now I can't get ANY responses except from Indian "recruiters" looking to ply their H1B scam bullshit.
I've always prefered long haul myself, its easy work if you don't mind being away. But I'm mostly out of the driver seat these days and dispatching my trucks. Trucking sucks at first, but it can lead to a profitable business opportunity.
