Im a college student and was working a minimum wage type of job pre-covid (around $12/hr). I was technically blocked from receiving merit increases (which were only $0.15) because CA has $15 minimum wage in the pipeline. $15 minimum wage DOES NOT encourage good employees.

Not only that but people who do not live within their means will not no matter what you raise the minimum too. People will get used to $15 as the baseline and start living off $20 and say $15 just isn't enough. Meanwhile many of them are not even worth $1. Illegal labor is just going to increase and it almost seems like that is the plan.

None of this makes any sense to me unless the "bankers" are trying to trigger disaster. So at the same time they want to make what is likely at least 30 million foreign nationals "citizens" and millions more are already and will be flooding into the USA, they want to raise the minimum wage to $15 and thereby either put people out of work because companies will fail and will lay off people, and/or it will just drive up prices as more money chases finite goods to where $15 is not enough either because, e.g, a 20% increase will increase prices for housing and goods by some amount that will likely eat up more than 20%.

Putting everyone out of work allows you to buy votes through promise of UBI.
