There is more than enough demand. This past year was a prime example with store shelves being empty, if we can get more trucks on the road that would be less of an issue and the only way to scale that up is with autonomous trucks.

Dude, 3.5 million people work as truck drivers in the United states. You're saying there is demand for 3.5 million new trucking companies? Even half a million new trucking companies is insane.

There are currently an estimated 1.2 million trucking companies in the country. You're talking about a 50% or larger total increase in trucking companies.

Why wouldn't the existing ones just layoff all their drivers, increase their autonomous fleet size, hire a software programmer and one additional scheduler, and beat out any attempted competition from new companies that don't even have a customer base yet?

Even with job eliminating technology, the transportation sector has always grown, as technology increases productivity.
