For 2022, there are 34 senate seats up for re-election. 20 of them are held by the GOP compared to 14 by the Dems. Even if the GOP swept the senate elections, and got pro-Trump senators installed in each and every one of those seats, we’d have 64 republicans to 36 Dems. In such a scenario, we’d still need a few Dems to vote to convict.

Regardless, I think we have decent odds to retake the senate as Dem senators in GA, AZ, NH, and NV are all up for re-election

Trump Democrats.

Seriously.

Have Trump-affiliated MAGA candidates run against democrat candidates in primaries--especially in states with RINO trash incumbents or challengers.

Sow chaos.

A majority vote in the senate is at least a 2/3 majority. In that scenario, there would then be enough votes to convict Biden in the senate.

A conviction in an impeachment trial requires a 2/3 majority

Isn't 60 roughly 2/3 of the majority though?

It’s close. You need a 2/3 majority out of 100 votes, which is 67
