He did not die despite the knee on the neck. Many variables, but perhaps the absence of a bag of drugs in his stomach had something to do it.

chubbyemu did a video on this trying to deboonk it, but actually proved it. floyd had wooden lung syndrome. it wasn't your typical overdose, the fentanyl caused his rib muscles to contract and stay contracted, allowing him very limited breathing. instead of just nodding out, he struggled to breathe for a long time.

Interesting - my comment was a bit sarcastic but I did see the conflicting autopsy info and complete video that showed he had breathing issues prior to the knee. Situations like this can be analyzed to show nearly any cause, but I was unaware he had wooden lung...had no idea wooden lung was a thing...method man was the iron lung If I recall my wu-tang history.

yep. some people when they get a big dose of fentanyl have this happen to them. they are still conscious and basically suffocate. results in cardiopulmonary arrest

It will be interesting to see what happens if it goes to Court. The issue is not the hold, as compared to OP here or if it was approved. The issue is good judgment.

The information you furnish here suggests even more strongly that holding him down like that for so long, even after he lost consciousness, maybe wasn't such a great idea. With 4 cops there, GF wasn't getting away. The first couple minutes you could say were reasonable.

Can an expert testify that GF wouldve died even without Police involvement? That's really what it comes down to, but realistically it's more about do they want riots worse than ever, and preferably Civil War.
