It is a bullshit argument that I see a lot of dems using now - "Actions have consequences. Grow up and be accountable for your words." The only problem with that is it is complete bullshit, when the left gets to arbitrarily decide what words and beliefs they deem to be offensive. Plus, they don't just take you at your words, they run them through their own twisted filter to judge them. A perfect example is Gina Carano. She was fired for making a statement about how the current cancel culture can be a slippery slop toward something more sinister. The left decided that meant she supports Nazis and should be fired. She was actually arguing that cancel culture can lead to what happened in Nazi Germany. But they don't want to hear that.

If you say you don't support BLM, the mob declares you racist.

If you say you don't support gay marriage, the mob declares you homophobic.

If you are a trump supporter you're all of the above.

Even the example of trump "inciting an insurrection" is bullshit. They have zero evidence that he did anything close to that. Their case was so bad they even had to photoshop tweets to make them go along with their narrative. When the idea of calling witnesses came up they backed down as soon as they figured out their side would also have to answer questions under oath.

Our founding fathers were against the idea of democracy for this reason. That is why we have a republic, "if we can keep it."

Thomas Jefferson: “A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.”

What the left wants is mob rule.
