POTUS_DonnieJ 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yup. I get this message maybe once a month. Occasionally I even get it for emails I do interact with.

Never, pede. We all know that ALL tech is compromised. Act judiciously and mock the living fuck out of them. Rules for Radicals, No. 5. They cannot stand mockery.

ForkHandles 1 point ago +1 / -0

I move to censure this pede for his use of G products.

Can & will. Why? There’s absolutely no excuse to use google for anything any more.

Let me enlighten you. My children’s’ school system uses google classroom and publishes the calendar via google calendar and ProtonMail Calendar doesn’t work. I have complained on their forum, the support system and their dev subreddit.

I get reminded all the time to unsubscribe to newsletters I never open.

Gmail is ass ho

5
schism 5 points ago +6 / -1

Why are you using enemy Gmail? https://protonmail.com/

1
Dhanrog 1 point ago +1 / -0

I couldn't make protonmail work for me. Missing features like conversation view on mobile makes it a mess. There are other, slightly less secure and still not Google options though that are feature rich and free. I like zoho as an example.

I don't use that Google shit.

NEVER, EVER use Gmail for anything important, or your main email or, ESPECIALLY, as the account "recovery" e-mail address of record if you need to change passwords on other sites. Now, you could use an Android phone without Google, or register brand new address if Google wipes you out, but, if your account "recovery" e-mail address goes dark without warning, that could be far worse. As Gmail will some day 100% shut down a ton of account for wrong-speak (voting down something on YouTube, something in a search, something in an e-mail) and it will not be fun. I understand it may already do such stuff on a more selective basis. I have two main non-Gmail accounts, one with a free non-US based service, one with a pay non-US based service (about $100 every 3 years for 25GB storage, some web hosting and and some other stuff).

https://www.androidauthority.com/google-account-banned-1054640/

Here is a semi-recent example of how this can go awry. A slew of YouTube users had their Google accounts (not just their YouTube accounts) banned for “spamming” a video feed with Emojis. However, the YouTuber who created the video in question encouraged users to do just that, so it was unnecessary for Google to go so far as to perform full account bans. To make matters worse, it took Google days before it reactivated everyone’s accounts. Even then, some experienced data loss.

JoeStalin 3 points ago +3 / -0

Fuck Gmail, fuck yahoo, fuck hotmail, fuck all of them. I bought my own domain name and host my own mail server.

VanishedPants 2 points ago +2 / -0

Dump google, it is hard at first but after you do it, the feeling is like a weight off of you.

2
Macynda 2 points ago +2 / -0

Just let it go... Gmail bad, one star, would not recommend. Proton mail FTW!

2
gaff474 2 points ago +2 / -0

Protonmail is better no keyword snooping by vendor.

2
OneBigMaga 2 points ago +2 / -0

Why the fuck are you still using Gmail, faggot!

1
pileongomer [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Because of the very first comment. Schools using Google classroom. Bad bot.

Personally, nothing specific about MyPillow but normally when I buy a product I don't need to know about them in my email. I bought some headphones, a week later I get a coupon for % off the next pair. Why do I need another pair? If they break in a week never buying from them again, if they break in five years I can look up their site and order a new pair.

SliceOFriedGold 2 points ago +2 / -0

From a sales and marketing perspective, its not just the one and done. They got other products, they want repeat business. If its a service, def better believe marketing is gonna be riding the spam can

1
mastermeatlock 1 point ago +1 / -0

I understand that point but I still don't need multiple emails a day/week. One or two a month and I'd be cool. If I buy from a company and I like the product I will return if I don't like the product or service I never will.

Kind of like best buy, they sold me a car stereo a decade without a faceplate, no refund, no return, will never shop at that shit store again.

1
NeverNotTrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

They do this with other vendors.

1
mikejones 1 point ago +1 / -0

1
knuckles_ghost 1 point ago +1 / -0

1
pileongomer [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have to use gmail because my children’s school system uses google classroom and they publish the calendar via google calendar and ProtonMail’s calendar is horrible and doesn’t work. Stop calling me names and assume I’m not retardant. /s

1
minttea2 1 point ago +1 / -0

I go out of my way to F with Google.

Do consider things such as (also works as direct add-ons to the "not Firefox - - it has a blue shaded icon" "remove telemetry" version of Firefox called F-Droid)

Trump2024easy -1 points ago +1 / -2

Yeah its a big conspiracy by big tech to get the Gmail to stop you reading the emails that you never read! If you think about it, the PATRIOT party will have an erection of its own email system where pedes like us can not open or read the emails we want, when we want!

-1
Litterboxer1 -1 points ago +1 / -2

To be fair I get these all the time for companies whose e-mails I never read.
