Any Texans willing to hire a young Canadian electrician from Alberta? I don't want to raise a family in this communist country and I really don't have many options of escaping. Not even kidding, I'd shovel shit at a zoo or clean portable toilets to start a path to leave this hellhole.

I just want to live in small town southern US and feel like I belong. I can eat ramen noodles every night as long as I enjoy the society I live in. I'm a simple young man, I'll never be rich, I got genetically lucky with looks, I'll never be brilliant, I'll probably never be someone who's very successful because I don't have the ambition.

What I am is somebody who will always hold the door open for anyone, actually talk and be polite to strangers and try my best to work on who I am.

There's a lot of people like me, many are shy and don't even feel relevant enough to speak up for themselves.

Kinda ironic making this statement at this time, but fuck the cold weather. Find a vehicle in Canada that's over 10 years old and it'll be fucked beyond belief. Pick a car on the street in Texas and it's probably in pristine condition and fucking 30 years old.

Texas is pretty awesome. And coming from Alberta you might feel pretty comfortable. Even the suburbs here are still pretty conservative. There are a few suburbs that are tainted with reckless liberalism, but those generally are within close orbits of urban centers.

There's economic opportunity here. Oil (like Alberta) is volatile but much like Alberta, is a big industry. There's aerospace and tech. And if you're not equipped for hogar industries then real estate might be an avenue. Property is pretty liquid here. Also, there's shit tons of new construction here, all over the state. Residential, commercial, or roads. So that might be an option.

Come on down my Canadian friend. Don't bring any left leaning hacks with you.

Thanks for the well written response. I've basically cut the lefties I know out of my life, except immediate family. I hate their views and outlook on life but I love those idiots.

I'm still young and dumb, but wouldn't I need to get a sponsored work visa to get my foot in the door?
