how old is your rotten? if he's around 2-3, that's the prime age for epilepsy to show itself. it can be controlled w/ phenobarb and the occasional valium inj. as a former lic. vet tech, i urge a full blood panel and spinal films. you have my prayers and my petition to st. francis, pede. i had the best rotten, ever. her name was lolly.

Not even 3 yet. I will have all of the tests done i can afford, like I said in another post, I will ask for potassium bromide first and then go to phenobarbital. He is such an active dog, a pain in the ass frankly, but oh how he is loved. Thank you all

One of our Boston’s had an issue with seizures when he was around 4-5. At first they were once every few months but they became more frequent. Our vet put him onto phenobarbital twice daily and he’s been perfect since (recently turned nine). There are some trade offs with the phenobarb but it’s worth it and our pup has continued to live a great life.

Check with your vet and don’t worry... there is a fix and the cost is maybe $30 a month give or take.

i've worked out a deal with my vet over the years; i pay for the monthly stuff, and i can pay down on emergencies.....i rescue and am a former lvt, and he's terrific about it. also, he's often willing to do a phone call as opposed to an office visit, and i can just pick up the meds i need. i missed your first post; over the years i've crittersat for epileptic pups. it's been a while, so new treatments/therapies may be available. i only suggested spinal films if epilepsy wasn't confirmed. fwubble those ears for me.

My dog got very sick & of Course it was a weekend. The overnight emergency vet told me about "CareCredit". I was like sure, they won't approve me... I went to the page, answered 3 questions,, thinking the application would pop up on next page. Nope- the very next window said Congratulations you are approved for $••••. Plus Interest free for like 9 months. It was good instantly--5 minutes from the time i was Told about the card till the time i was giving the vet's office the account #. Keep in mind just in case. Good luck & a prayer for Rex.
