Elective classes should be self defense, how to fix shit around your house, wash clothes, load a dishwasher. Just saying since most kids have 1 parent at home and the 1 they probably have is working 3 jobs. Since teachers are so friggin smart and know everything, actually teach the pre-adults some shit they can use in life.
