I'm confused why all these folks are losing their guns on fishing trips. If I told a cop that shit and they asked any one I know they would start laughing. I hate boats, I hate the ocean, and I bet I can swim better than most and live on the coast.

I hate the semantics argument over what is or isn't an assault weapon. They really mean assault rifles, which are automatic weapons that were outlawed in 1986 (unless you're a gun manufacturer, which turns it into a privilege). The wrong argument is being waged, it isn't about whether or not it's an "assault weapon", it's the fact that under the strict wording of the second amendment I'm allowed to own it regardless of what you think about it. SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED is there for a reason, and you restricting my access to an "assault weapon" (bullshit term) is infringing on my firearm rights.
