As we enter our second night without power, I’m thankful my family has a generator to keep this home heated. So many people do not. The dark winter upon us should not be. Pray for our poor and elderly and for the ill prepared here in Texas and throughout this nation.

Just curious... if you had solar panels and kept them clear of snow, technically could you have electricity independent of the grid?

I wonder if you can charge enough car batteries (or something... like Elon Musk's Powerwall, or maybe go buy totaled Teslas and use the batteries from them) using your panels during the day then power up during the night. I don't know.
Might just be a crazy idea, and I'm sure that Powerwall or totaled Teslas aren't cheap and could be a fire hazard... I'm not saying that you should do this, probably spend more than it's worth
