Wind will never be self sufficient because it will never return as much power as it takes to build them. Wind should only be used for small scale off grid situations. It is not suited for large scale use like they want you to think. The only thing that large scale wind farms do is fill politicians pockets with money.

Wind is limited by battery storage. Battery technology is constantly improving.

Only somewhat true and we still a very long way from having battery storage on that kind of scale. Even if we had perfect battery storage wind generators will never return a net positive to the system. Batteries only reduce the margin of loss but that also brings into question the production of the batteries, facilities in which to store them, additional complexity in hooking them up to the power grid.
